SOLAR POWER LIGHTING

Solar security lighting is an energy saving and an effective deterrent against thieves, it is an important advancement in home security and safety and can provide a well lit path illuminated through the garden or yard.

Solar lighting does not require any wiring, using a set of rechargeable batteries, solar lights are charged throughout the day when the sun's UV rays come into contact with the photovoltaic cells that make up the solar unit.
The batteries used with solar security lighting are usually sealed lead acid batteries, similar to a car's battery but on a much smaller scale, these batteries allow for multiple discharges throughout the night but do not require a full discharge before recharging the battery again.
There are also other solar security lights that utilize a Nickel Metal Hydride or NiMH battery instead of the lead acid battery.

Solar lighting can be set to come on automatically at dusk, with some newer models that come with a remote system allowing you to turn them off at night if you wish.
