Never install a security system yourself unless you have the required electrical knowledge to do so.

DOOR LOCKS & BOLTS

If your doors are not secure, fit five lever Mortise deadlocks to front and back doors.
Exterior doors should be fitted with bolts to top and bottom.

EXTERNAL LIGHTING

External lighting is always a good deterrent, consider having a P I R (passive infra red)
Security light installed, this will be activated when it detects movement in its range.

WINDOW LOCKS

Most Burglars break into a property through a back window, windows that are not visible from the Street/road,
or windows that are easily accessible from a flat roof or drainpipe, fitting key operated window Locks to all windows upstairs & downstairs is good additional security.

HOME OR ON HOLIDAY

Whether you are on holiday, at work, or at home sleeping, don't leave valuable items
Visible, this is a temptation to a thief; consider investing in a good quality Safe for those
Important items.

INSURANCE

Many Insurance companies offer reduced premiums for people with good security , with alarm maintenance , having insurance will relieve you of the financial concerns of replacing any stolen goods.
